Development

WCHR continually searches for viable development projects that address identified housing needs within the community. It collaborates with private and public partners to develop home ownership and rental opportunities in key neighborhood locations.

Permanent Supportive Housing

Oriol Drive Permanent Supportive Housing will be the conversion of a former 114 room Quality Inn Hotel and Suites to individual 90-unit income restricted one bedroom and studio apartments, associated common areas, and supportive service spaces.

Landlord Liaison Program

The Landlord Incentive Program is designed to provide outreach to Worcester County landlords to secure rental units for residents accessing the new Emergency Housing Vouchers.

Whitmarsh Center

This project is a partnership between Worcester Community Housing Resources, Zion Lutheran Church, and Friendly House. Plans for the facility include WCHR Offices, a 6-bedroom emergency family shelter, Zion Lutheran Church services, and community hall.

Downpayment Assistance Program

The ARPA Downpayment Assistance Program will assist residents in purchasing their first home. The City of Worcester selected Worcester Community Housing Resources to administer these funds to eligible first-time homebuyers purchasing a home in the city.

Heywood Wakefield Commons

WCHR owns and operates an affordable assisted living facility that is entirely targeted to low-income seniors in Gardner, Massachusetts.
